Our electricians are fully qualified and NAPIT-approved. Every inspection is completed to the latest BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. You receive a properly certified EICR that's recognised by insurers, letting agents, and local authorities.
Electrical reports can be confusing. We make sure you understand every finding before we leave. We go through your results in straightforward language — so you always know exactly what your report means and what your next steps should be.
We offer convenient appointment times across Newport to fit around your commitments. Whether you're at home, managing a tenanted property, or running a business, we work efficiently and with minimum disruption.
We respect your time. Our electricians arrive when they say they will and get straight to work. You can count on us to complete the inspection thoroughly and on schedule every time.
No hidden costs. No last-minute additions. We provide a clear, fixed quote before the inspection begins. You know exactly what you're paying before we arrive.
At Makse Electrical & Renewables, we keep every step clear, straightforward, and stress-free from the moment you get in touch to the moment you receive your certificate.
A satisfactory EICR means no C1 or C2 faults were found during the inspection. The installation is considered safe and compliant. An unsatisfactory EICR means one or more serious faults were identified. This doesn’t mean your property is immediately dangerous in every case, but it does mean remedial work is required before a satisfactory certificate can be issued.
Under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, you must provide a copy of the EICR to your tenant within 28 days of the inspection. Failing to do so can result in a fine of up to £30,000 issued by your local authority. We issue digital certificates promptly after every inspection to make compliance straightforward.
No — an EICR covers the fixed electrical installation only. This includes wiring, circuits, sockets, switches, consumer units, and light fittings. Portable appliance testing (PAT testing) is a separate service that covers individual electrical appliances and equipment.
An EICR is designed to cover the full electrical installation of a property. Partial inspections are not recommended as they cannot give you a complete picture of electrical safety. For an accurate and legally valid report, the entire accessible installation needs to be assessed.
Make sure our electrician can access all rooms, the consumer unit, and any outbuildings with electrical installations. Clear any obstructions around your fuse board. Let your tenants know in advance if the property is occupied. That’s all you need to do — we handle everything else.
